Family Summer Photoshoot at Historic Tuckahoe in Henrico
Shooting a family session at Historic Tuckahoe in Virginia (Thomas Jefferson’s boyhood home), was an incredible experience, offering a perfect blend of history, charm, and stunning natural backdrops. The plantation’s beautifully preserved gardens, grand trees, and rustic architecture provided a variety of settings for both posed and candid shots. The golden-hour light filtering through the foliage created a warm, dreamy atmosphere, adding depth and softness to the images.
Navigating the location required some planning, as there are multiple scenic spots to explore, but the versatility made it worth it. For photographers, Tuckahoe offers a timeless, storybook feel that beautifully complements family sessions, making it a fantastic choice for capturing heartfelt moments.
